What is Prayer?
Prayer is a conversation with God; it should be in the same way that a child has a conversation with their father. There should be introspection that helps build that relationship and bonding with the Father. A child will often ask their father to do things for them but the father then shows how they can do it for themselves. When we use introspection it can bring us to the right thing to pray for. Too many times we pray for the effect and not the cause, when we look inside ourselves, with the aid of God, we can then see the cause and pray effectively for it.
God made man in His image which means that we have powers and abilities that we do not realise that we have got, when we prayer God shows us how to use those powers and abilities. The greatest power that we have is the power of faith, belief, and this can make our potential limitless. As we spend time conversing with God He shows us how to apply ourselves in the best way to bring about our requests, sometimes this means standing and sometimes it has actions but if we listen and apply it always has the right result.
In our conversation with God we can intercede for others in the same way that Abraham interceded with God over Sodom and Gomorrah.
